Wadebridge Sports and Leisure Centre is owned and operated by FOWLC Community Interest Company, a not for profit organisation set up to protect this important community asset.
In taking a membership or one time booking with the centre you agree to the following terms and conditions:
General
- Physical activity or exercise is undertaken at your own risk. If you have any concerns about your health or suitability for your chosen activity you should seek guidance from a doctor or relevant health professional before participating.
- Bookings are valid for the named person only, non-transferable and non-refundable once the purchasing process is complete.
- You must always register your attendance by scanning the barcode at the centre reception
- If you fail to attend or cancel less than 30Minutes prior to the start of your booking you may incur a charge and have your future booking rights blocked until this is paid off.
- Listen to our staff at all times and follow their instructions.
- There may be additional rules which apply to a particular facility displayed in the Centre which you will also be required to follow.
- Memberships cancelled after a renewal payment has been processed will not expire until the end of the newly paid membership cycle. Please allow at least 5 working days for cancellations to take effect.
Pool
- Under 8's and non swimmers under 16 must be accompanied in the water by a competent adult swimmer
- No more than two under 8's or non swimmers under 16 to each competent adult swimmer
- The competent adult swimmer must actively supervise under 8's and non swimmers under 16.
- Under 8's and all non swimmers must remain in shallow water except where they have satisfied the lifeguard on duty that they are able to swim a full length on their front and tread water for 30seconds
- We strongly recommend under 8's and non swimmers use armbands and/or an appropriate buoyancy aid
- Swim testing by lifeguards may be implemented to check the ability of swimmers before they are allowed into the deep end of the main pool. This will be at the discretion of the lifeguard on position.
- Respect lane discipline and other swimmers, there may be mixed abilities.
- Competent swimmers of club standard over the age of 11 are allowed to book ‘Lane Swimming’. Swimmers must demonstrate overt competency.
- Please adhere to the poolside rules otherwise you maybe asked to leave.
Racket Sports
- You will need to bring your own racquets and shuttlecocks/balls although sometimes these may be available to hire or purchase.
- Play responsibly in accordance with the National Governing Body rules and guidance.
Fitness Class
- Wipe down all equipment before and after use with the provided cleaning materials.
- Do not use any equipment that has been placed out of use.
- If you are unfamiliar with how to operate any equipment then always ask for safety advice from a member of staff.
Gym
- Wipe down all equipment before and after use with the provided cleaning materials.
- Do not use any equipment that has been placed out of use.
- If you are unfamiliar with how to operate any equipment then always ask for safety advice from a member of staff.
- When using the Smith Machine (Technogym Multipower) it is your responsibility to ensure the safety stops are used at all times.
- No private coaching allowed.
Junior Gym and Adult and Junior Gym Sessions
- Only children aged between 9 and 15 years are permitted to attend Adult and Junior Gym sessions with an adult.
- Junior gym sessions may be booked by those aged 11-15 inclusive and will be under the supervision of a fitness instructor. As with all activities attendees must follow the instructions of the fitness instructor or centre staff
- As the parent / guardian, by booking you are confirming the following; I realise that the health of the child in my care is my responsibility and that exercise and or physical activity can carry its own risk. I confirm that, if I, or the child in my care, have any concerns about their health and/or their health status changes, I will seek guidance from their General Practitioner or other relevant health professional before they participate in any exercise and/or physical activity.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult and actively supervised at all times. It is the adult’s responsibility to ensure that the terms and conditions are adhered to at all times by you and the child.
- If you or the child are unfamiliar with how to operate any equipment then always ask for safety advice from a member of staff.
- Children are not permitted to use free weights, resistance machines or the assisted chin dip machine during this session unless under the guidance of a member of centre staff
- Treadmills to be used at a maximum speed of 8km/h and maximum incline of 6.
- Rowing machine to be used on a maximum resistance of 5 and maximum RPM of 30.
- Wipe down all equipment before and after use with the provided cleaning materials.
- Do not use any equipment that has been placed out of use.
